  1. Has there been a new date set for the postponed May 9th roll-out or is it set for June 6th? Any further details?
Also I see there is calendar event for Orem’s Memorial Day event. Is there going to be military vehicle presence?
    Thanks, Brett

Sorry for having to miss the UVU show.

There will be a D-Day roll-out on June 6th. Meet at Thanksgiving Point at no later than 10:00. I will be driving in the Cedar Hills parade which starts at 9:00 and then going straight to Thanksgiving Point to start the roll-out. If you are interested in gong with me let me know. The roll-out info is here.

The American Legion Orem Post 72 is doing a patriotic presentation including a flyover by a WWII plane at the Orem Cemetery. The program will start at 9:00 if you are bringing a vehicle to display be there no later than 8:30.

Also Standing Quietly is doing events on Monday morning so if you would like find a bridge and follow the directions on their website.

      Thank you for promoting patriotism.

  3. I have a Ford jeep (might be a 1943) that I would like to sell. It belonged to my son and he has passed away. I have looked on line trying to figure out a price to ask and good place to adverse it, but I haven’t been able to find anything. I was hoping that you folks could perhaps give me some direction on this. It ran a few years ago, but has no brakes. It needs body work and tires. Any ideas you have would be helpful.

    1. We are happy to help you find a home for this jeep. We may even be interested in adding it to our museum collection. Thank you, Vernon Stout

  6. Chester "RED" Israel

    Mr Stout,
This is Chester “RED” Israel , I was the NCOIC of Satans L’iL Angel when it was destroyed 2-20-1971.
    The crew was myself,
    Calvin Bennett rear gunner,
Richard Frazier right gunner (KIA) that night by the first RPG in box ,
Robert Thorne driver (KIA) on Proud Amercian,

    I talked with Calvin today,
We are wondering if Larry gave all the displays with the truck?
    Knowing Larry he did !

My time ended that night 2-20-1971
The only association I have with the Proud is the crew and it was built out of parts of SLA.
When it was destroyed 3-12-1971 the parts were used to build Ace of Spades #2
There is a movie of the build on the Smithsonia Channel, The Weapon Hunter – Vietnan Guntrucks

The 523rd was inducted into the Transportation Hall of Fame in 2012 at Ft Eustis .
At Ft Eustis Museum the Eve of Destruction original is on display, sent home at the end of Lamson 719.

The guys have replicas of the Guntrucks we had in Vietnam,,,,
The most interesting thing about three of them is they all had the same bumper numbers .
    Satans Li’L Angel # 316 destroyed
Proud Amercian # 316 (built out of SLA )
Ace of Spades # 316. (Built out of PA )

SLA replica resides at Carlisle Pa. ( Rod Kessler)
Ace replica resides at Rogerville Tn. ( Sammy Seay )
Black Widow resides at Pensacola Fl. (Ron Smith )

I just wanted to make contact with you,
Thank You For Keeping The History of the Vietnam War Alive
    Chester “RED” Israel
